Calendar Year - There are 15 months, for a total of 450 days in the year, not including Tai Taowyn or End Year, which is a five-day period of "non-time" that takes care of the odd orbital period around the sun of 455 days. The months, in order, all called: Tor, Ator, Vaen, Torvaen, Kos, Torkos , Skord, Torskord, Zar, Torzar, Ghast, Torghast, Chund, Torchund and Khoros, or the End Year month.

Candãna - strange world found through mischance on the Plateau of Forever. More can be found in the Tales of Known Gates section.

Carnelian Mountains - While visibly imposing, it is not the sight of these mountains that lend its prestige, but instead the infamous blue gnomes. They mine and use the fabulous metal Brozahrium found in the mountains in all things, including as a mintage. Several nations have besieged their mountain holds over the past and during the Nexus Wars an army of 11,000 strong actually made it within to Spiggenkoer, their largest mountain hold. Of course, not one made it back out alive and somewhere within, tales so the bones of this army was used to make a great unappealing statue of bone, stone, and mortar to commemorate their foolishness in even trying!

Cat-of-Fire - Though few in number, this cult is widely seen in maritime/coastal nations (particularly the Cirthian League, Chardos and the Isles of Fire). It has political clout far exceeding what its size would indicate and is ‘the’ up and coming religion for sailors and their kind. However, its roots are Khai-Zirin and feline orientated and is where its main numbers lie at this time.

Caverns Of The Ruby Sun - legendary (and lost) caverns somewhere in the Heaven Wall Mountains on the edge of Falohyr.  Much sought out by Dreamweavers, Khai Shang and Talafarians for various reasons.

Ceadeal la'Matirine - A rakish and well known Amazon warrior and sailor, renown for her bravery and cheerfulness. Her greatest act and her final end lies in the tale of her confrontation with the evil unleashed long ago. For three days she harried, fought, and out maneuvered the horrific thing on her ship the Gypsy Ghost. She had commanded everyone of ther crew to bind their eyes away from the sight of it so they would not go mad. Only her voice commanded them and only her unprotected eyes would gaze upon it. Cheerful, even as the madness of the evil pecked at her mind and boiled her flesh, she guided them in a three day dance to lead the evil into the great cataclysmic destruction of the Maelstrom. Even at the end, when she and the crew realized they had failed, she cheerfully rallied her crew one more time and sailed her ship the Gypsy Ghost right into its jaws, her hawk ram extended for one last blaze of glory.

Ceded Lands - The lands given to Ithalos by Khorsar after the Gods Flood

(The) Charge of Nineteen into the Face of Hell - Epic song about the charge of heroes in the chaos taken Vale of Athiqui.  They say more heroes fell in a single hour than any other since the horrible Wars of When in the dark past. Those near the Vale of Athiqui in Khorsar hold the 8th of Tor as a special time of fasting and gratitude for those who fell to the damnation of the dark that day.

Chorazmatt - This Greater Demon appears as a 33 feet long serpentine creature of translucent sapphire blue with three pairs of dragonfly-like wings, 45-feet wingspan, close behind its head.  Chorazmatt is called the Storm Queen and is brilliantly intelligent as well as fluent as the masters in Rune Singing and Bardic lore.  Her hauntingly beautiful singing can mesmerize any sentient being.  She is considered the Queen of the Storm Demons and is always known to be friendly with Elementals of the Air and other such magikal kind.  When called for in a summoning she is normally accompanied by one to ten of those beings.  She is perhaps the only Greater Demon who will willingly come to such a magikal summons, and is generally well disposed to those who summon her.  She will sometimes trade the services of her servants or even herself in return for the favors of a handsome man.  But any arrogance, insolence, or other such failure to recognize her high and omnipotent position will result in her absolute and undying rage, usually ending in the death of him who has thus insulted her.  She is conjured forth in all matters of air, storm, or flight, but only by those of an effacing and humble manner who don't care whom they bed!

Chorynth - A renaissance styled swashbuckling culture that is ruled by fourteen self-named sea princes, one for each coastal city.

Chrysolia - An old prosperous land, Chrysolia is known for its valorous and honor bound people and ancient bloodlines that extend deep into the misty past of Khaora’s early years. Their roots grew from the refugees fleeing the destruction of Archaela during the Interstellar Wars.

Chu-Khem - A Quawima goddess whose worship has continued past the fall of that ancient empire. This goddess left a bloody trail of footprints across the Quawima dominion before their fall, wiggled into the Pandooris Empire as it tore at the roots of the Quawima and still thrives today in the nations of Panduria, Chund, and other eastern nations. The religion is an extremely bloody handed and vicious ‘fertility / mother’ cult, female dominated and harvest oriented. It always vies for dominion wherever it takes root, and is thus at war with any other religions dominate in the area.

Chuik Starshaker - A very powerful but modest wizard in Manveinoe.  He is well known for helping those in need and smiting those who bear any hint of chaos in their souls.

Chund - An old land but prosperous still and vibrant, Chund has seen the rise and fall of many enemies and weathered them all. It is an older, eastern coastal nation south of Ghorfar and heir with it to some of the original empire of the Dreaming Isles.  They are an intensely private people with a deep seated fascination for revenge that can span generations and tens of ten-cycles.

Cidrii’l -  The strange world described in Mounavernor duLesmque's journal of travels.  He described the place as very similar to the Dark Plains and thought it “not fit for Elf, man, or Dwarf”.

Cirthian League - The Cirthian League is a maritime nation with coastal colonies well known for its adventuresome merchants and low tolerance for rivals or pirates, going to legendary extents to circumcise either.

Claw Trees -  Thick forest in Altala well known for its vast amounts of small but ferocious animals.

Coast of Black Gulls -  Western coastline of Kalesh, noted for the night black gulls that roost there.

Coast of Crimson Skulls - forbidding set of coastal cliffs on the southern border of Viruelandia whose crimson bluffs are like bloody skulls leering out of the fog that clings to them.

Compact, The - Initially, only the spoken oaths of the Amazon Queens sworn at Split Tree Strand in the famous Split Tree Oaths.  These words were later put onto tablets of stone bound in steel and added to now and then as the Amazon Queens meet every five-cycle (45 years).

Lord Conn Ghodhund - Conn Ghodhund was a lord of Viruelandia and Siege Lord at one time in Arduin. He was one of the Ghodhunds who carried on the rich mercenary heritage of family and had earned a rightful place in Arduin as well.

Corelwen - One of the three rogues whom self referred to themselves as the Hands of Filtēdos.  Who or what Filtēdos is or was is unknown, but anyone with the barest understanding of three could likely guess it was part of some grand joke, jest, or pun pointing at someone.  Kiret, Corelwen, and Jusef were always hatching some kind of scheme and spent the bulk of their lives in pursuit of one grand "quest" or another, seeking out, finding and "borrowing" quite a few things.  In their last cycle of years in Khaas, they did so in the ‘name of the king of Arduin’.  This was something King Elric took in poor jest.  He spoke to them about it, in person…not too long before their disappearance from the scene…hmmm…

Cosine Killieve - Urukk, Khai-Zirin and Elf crossover that had attributes of each and the hatred of all of them. His early hell of a life led him into his 45 years of rapine and pillaging as a Corsair in the Orichalcum Ocean. He successfully raided every maritime nations' shipping that ran on the eastern coast. He is also noted as one of the very few pirates that have challenged the Dreaming Isles ships and came out on top.

Crikoros - Member of the Orphic Cult that sprung up in the Tremble Plains not too long ago. His paintings were considered exquisite and he was regarded as the master painter with the ability to breath life into anything he painted.  He died with the rest of the cult but not before painting a final masterpiece showing the scene where Orpheus spurns five Amazons and they tear him to pieces.

Crimson Gorge - in the world beyond the Azure Elephant Portal, this was another nexus portal leading to a land of steaming gasses and rivers of volcanic lava.

Crystal Peacock River - Sourced in the Silver Shield Mountains, this river is the mainstay for those who dwell in the south west of Arduin.  While not as fierce or powerful as its brothers and sisters that cut the lands of Arduin, the Crystal Peacock River is cold, refreshing, and vibrant.  Like the other major rivers in Arduin, this river flows into the Misty Sea and is part of the life giving flow of waters into that deep basin.

Crystal Caverns - Strange enigmatic caverns in the Mickleback Mountains of Arduin.  Little is know of these dangerous depths, said they devour those who walk them.  Some bit of wisdom hints that "between the ringing of the chimes only lies the safest step", whatever that means.

Crystal River - This meandering river cuts through the God’s Spine Mountains, fed by numerous other smaller rivers and streams in the farther north and east. Physically, the river is a deep gorge that splits the mountain chain a powerful driving force and aged outpouring of water that shows it was present when the God’s Spine Mountains were being formed. The water is deep, hitting depths of 100 ft. or more in most places and deeper in others. It shallows at one point, but otherwise keeps its depth its entire length. Its banks as it cuts through the mountains are often impassible cliffs or dominated by outcroppings of bedrock. The water of the river is clean and very clear, and making it near impossible to gauge the depth of its waters properly. There are no fords but three ferries operate to cross its breadth as well as two bridges that connect its banks.

Cycle of Years Calendar - this is the  fifteen year, cyclic calendar initially introduced in Arduin Grimoire II and expanded on in detail in the World Book of Khaas.  In short, however, the years move through a 15-year cycle, starting with Dragonus, the Year of the Dragon, and ending with Sarchimus, the Year of Initiation.  Every one thousand years there is a special year, called Tarsoris, or the Year of the Star.  References to this calendar are made by using the current cycle and the year in the cycle.  For example, the current year in Khaas is 78 Skorpos.  The zero date for this calendar is the Accords of Arduin.  More information is within the World Book about this way of reckoning the years.  Not all countries in Khaas use this calendar, but most on Khaora do.  The years in their order of reckoning is seen as follows.  DragonusRoccahrVictrixBoruumahrEquinusTorqusSerpihkarScintillusFenrisSolarisLunusPhatellusSkorposGraillus, and Sarchimus.  Once every thousand years there is an extra year called Tarsoris.
