Dallasta - Dallasta has only recently risen once again, like the phoenix from the ashes of the past.

Dalshyra - An idiosyncrasy even in Amazon lands, these women are different both in outlook and physicality to their sisters. Their origins are shrouded but they are no less sisters to the Motherland Amazons because of it.

Dances to the Concordance - On a far world, the Idia'Sheola weave the Dances to the Concordance in order to save their world from destruction. The once brilliant suns in their sky have grown dim and they move in the great dance to keep life in their dying land. Little more is known of this ritual, other than it consumes the life of this once starfaring and world walking civilization. See the Twirling of the Spheres and the Song of Epochs for additional information on this race as well.

Dark Gods, The - This is perhaps the oldest organized religion in Khaas, and perhaps the most terrifying and horrific.  No one symbol can ever define their sadistic and horrible ways and all races who cling to evil ways and find pleasure in chaos or evil for evil’s sake are at home with these beings.  The religion is worldwide in scope but officially banned everywhere except the dread nation of Marmachand where it is the state religion!  Its horrendous deities are probably the most feared everywhere.

Dark Plains - This area is a blight on the land situated north of Azelkha and is the reputed home to Trelves.  The land seems in perpetual shadow due to the heavy amounts of stormy clouds above and has deep, richly black soil.  Strange towers protrude out of the earth everywhere, most made from stone with large cones of metals at their tops.  Snaking rollercoaster like pathways lie suspended between the towers, resembling crawling centipedes.  These undulating cabled pathways seem to transmit the great bolts of lightning that frequently arc downward from the troubled sky to strike the towers.

David Hargrave - author of the Arduin Grimoires, and originator of the World of Khaas.

Dead Man’s Gasp - frothing beach in Alazahr, beat constantly by waves that break sharply on the rocks and stirred by eddies the explosive release of gas trapped in the pock mocked rocks in the area.

Deadhunters - An organization of adventurers that are dedicated to plumbing the depths of Skull Tower.  Their home base is in the town of Red House and they own several large fortified manors outside the town near Grave Grove Forest.  They train their new members in the same wood and have earned the thanks and trust of the townspeople by policing the shambling undead and mindless spirits that issue forth from the forest.

Deamonshyra - This religion is based mainly in the southern, warmer lands like Vargalla. It glorifies deceit, treachery, lying, and all things "false and hidden". Many southern nations’ Thieves Guilds have been taken over by these types. Deamonshyra was a minor demon-worshipping cult until about 70 years ago. It has since grown by great lengths, both in numbers and power.

The Deed of Shaldonness - this song is about the Elven General Almari Shaldonness and is a "brother-tale" to the Ride of the Gallant Froth Horses and the Lay of the Elven Eleven Hundred.  It, unlike the other two, focuses greatly on General Shaldonness' anguish over losing of so many Elves during the battles to keep Arduin, Elven, and out of the hands of others bent on its destruction.

DeMion - the Chardosian aristocrat who reformed Chardos after the period of anarchy in the wake of the Wars of Life.

Demon Of The Dark - An old deity, it is never described in any discernable dimensions. All statues to it picture a fearsome and terrible creature that lies beyond normal means of description. The god is looked upon with terror by all but its fanatics. It is the epitome of entropic destruction and annihilation. The triad of original deities, The Bright Lady, Skirin, and Shagrath imprisoned it in Khaas' fourth moon where it currently lies, striving eternally to be free. Every thousand years the Demon of the Dark comes close to Khaas and is visible in the sky. It is then that it strives to be free. Its followers cause significant chaos, death, and destruction across the world during this time.

Demon Of Whispers - the title for Oolnydragen, the Greater Demon of ancient times that haunted many of the older heroes, especially Rune Singer and Bardic ones.  The sound of its voice was said to be death.  The tale of Dzor Khorenin is particularly known though little played by bards.

Deodanth - Deodanths are surrounded in mystery and legend, so much so that they themselves no longer know the whole truth. Thaumaturgical research confirms that they are a hybrid race, the result of a necromantic blending of Elven blood with some dark and unknown thing, probably feline in nature. As such, they are essentially immortal, though they reach their majority in just 10 years. According to legend, they are lost time travelers from eons in the future, when the universe is old and the last suns are dying. They are known for their fierce nature as well as their cunning battle tactics. A nomadic breed, they travel alone or in small groups, and are solitary in their habits—so much so that most of their history has passed out of memory, despite their long lives.

Devouring Reefs - horrible area off of Laenkrwat that has doomed many ships in the Roiling Foam Sea. The waves here are said to be strong enough to drown sea giants

Diora - The goddess is a fairly new one, only 20 cycles or so old (300 years). She is an eminently "Law" and "Good" aligned goddess. She is mainly found in lands such as Ithalos and Tharkhala, the religion is still small in numbers are nonetheless enthusiastic and loud in their zeal. The Goddess is heralded as "the epitome of all that is light and good".

Do-khadu -  This arcane blade is a shamshir, cunningly made but most of its aesthetic beauty has been destroyed by use in its past.  While ugly and seemingly warped by great forces in the past, Do-khadu keeps a keen edge, so sharp it is said, that it can shave peals off adamantine.

Dourvekal duLesmque -  The duLesmque that fulfilled the acts required by King Elric in order that the unfinished volume of their most noted family member be returned to them.  Supposedly, the duLesmque family heard rumor that the book was in the possession of the crown.  They appealed for an audience and later demanded its return from the king.  Amused by their audacity but equally irritated as well, King Elric demanded they bring him three things in return for the book:  the Light of Quo, the Breath of the N’geerdai, and darkness from the Vault of Nightsun.

Dragon Sea - The sea off of Tharkhala, Chrysolia and Ghandamahl known for its sea dragons and beasts.

Dragonus - literally the Year of the Dragon.  The first year in the Cycle of Years calendar.  Certain symbols were utilized when this way of reckoning was proposed on that fateful day in Arduin when all the people and nations of Khaora sat at the table of peace and hammered out the words that would forever bind them all to a lasting peace.   Fifteen where chosen, and a sixteenth added to represent the dark times that come but (thankfully) once in a thousand years. Even then the guts of the calendar was old and stretched back farther in history than its proposal on the Fields of Pelanorè.

Dreaming Isles - an old, but vibrant land, host to many differing people over time, sleepily content in its superiority of the seas and the lands it controls; but heir in one form or another to its darker heritage.

Dvin-Nojus - a farmer originally from Falohyr who took to adventuring after his parents and new wife died in a fire. While his life was punctuated by flashes of heroism, he is mainly known for the part he played in the Khorsarian Rebellion of Jghu and his slaying of that one (Jhgu) in a one-on-one duel that ended the rebellion.

Dwarfbones - soft, blue coal like ore found in the world beyond the Azure Elephant Portal.  It burns four times as long as normal coal but otherwise has no other special properties.

Dweollaas - it is the head taker, the stalker of shadows and thief of life. Never depicted as more than an amorphous cloud of shadows, Dweollaas is the ultimate boogieman, striking when unexpected and removing one’s head. A few say Dweollaas has great silvery hands and equally pallid arms that extend from the amorphous shadow, complete with long, long scimitar fingers which snap and click. Dweollaas lives in the shadows ever-present in the Fox Wood and the great shadow cast by the mountain that towers from it. Some say he has lived for ages, birthed sometime around the Great Night War in some horrific ritual. Others say other things, such as Dweollaas was born in the darkness of men's souls or is some terrible evil released during the Wars of When, drawn to life in the sanguine rain that drenched the earth. Either way, those who prowl the Fox Wood speak of it with dread, and warn adventurers of its peril.

Dzor Khorenin - the name is pronounced, "soar core-in-in", and he is the purported forefather of all Bards and the stock from whence they sprung.  While the tales are muddled as to how this is so and what his relation is to Rune Singers, but supposedly he lost the ancient Master Words of Power.
