In the dimming past of yesteryear, the center of the world was Fhedlspaera. In its footsteps, following the great wars that tore the continent asunder and sank it below the waves, came Archaela. The jewel of the world, the continent of Archaela sparkled brighter than any gem could ever care to equal, but fell into darkness before the ambition of its inhabitants. The banner of the world passed to Khaora in the aftermath of Archaela’s fall to the ravages of the Interstellar War. Khaora is the heart of the world now and it beats to the pulse of its myriad races and burgeoning civilizations.
Khaora is one of the seven continents of Khaas, and perhaps the most well known in its current era. The land has a more pleasant climate than perhaps any of the other land masses. Daily temperatures vary considerably, seasonal variations occur and the air is clear and dry (except in the extreme south coast, where the continent lies closer to the equator and has less seasonal variance and is quite humid in regions).
The interior of the continent has a harsh dry desert were the easterly winds cannot surmount the tall mountains and rage around them instead, driving vast amounts of moisture inland. Rogue winds blow frequently into the Silvandian Sea and create monsoons that blast inland until they break on the Heaven Wall Mountains. The average temperature ranges from 50 degrees to 118 degrees Fahrenheit, with cooler temperatures in the north of the continent averaging 32 to 68 degrees and even cooler near the north coast. There the very land crackles under a sheet of ice and the ice seems to snap and break as is blows off the cold, Ice Mist Sea.
The landmass measures over 3,000 miles long by 2,200 miles wide and is home to the country of Arduin, famous for its nexus gates. Furthermore, the continent is the most populated, civilized, and diverse in regard to different cultures, people, and creatures. This diversity stems as much because of historic events as from the nexus gates.
