Machichrondahr - This deity is the patron deity of all gladiators and swords for hire with followers of every race and nation in the world. Many followers openly tattoo or brand their god’s symbol over their heart or even on the forehead. Few outside of those caught up in the glory and blood of the arena pay attention to this divinity, though he is often thought of as a ‘war’ god in his own right.

Maelshyra - The Maelshyra are a strongly mercantile island nation, heavily embroiled in local politics, which is striving to dominate the local region through subtlety and economic power.

Maelstrom - Swirling, destructive area of harsh currents and choppy water in the Cerulean Sea north of the Misty Isles. Rumor and legends places its creation due to the confluence of nine nexus, each which lead to different places in the 21 Hells.

Maeraine - A town in the southeast of Arduin set between the Woods of Willow Fire and the Black Bite Forest.   Its one of the more traveled to southeast villages and has a thriving agricultural industry.

Machaic before Skirin - Machaic is famous as a siege lord of Arduin and his valor on the battlefield and off was unquestioned.  Drunk beyond his sense one night at a victory party he was challenged to stand on the battlements of the city (Talismondé) on the 10th of Torvaen (Skirin’s Night).  They say he met Skirin that night too, and Skirin gave him a choice: to take up his arms and battle the god or to submit to his will.  The stories diverge on what choice he did make depending on who tells it but regardless, he was not seen in the flesh again.

Malgoreem - Malgoreem is a fiercely independent land, home to nomadic tribes with old roots in the Hamz Aleph, as well as Windri tribesmen who call the region home from ancient times.

Malvia - Malvia is a monarchy that was once part of a nation split in a conflict between heirs.

Manveinoe - Ocean covered world of archipelagoes where Humans are found only in small numbers and never with any great power.  The entrance to this world is found in the Great Sunless Forest of Arduin.  It is one of seventeen worlds mentioned in Mounavernor duLesmque’s volume, "Journeys of an Iterant Elf".

Maragoré - In the chaos of the fall of the Maragoréan monarchy, a collective of racially divided and warring kingdoms have risen to command the once beautiful land of Maragoré.

Marbonas - The Laughing One is a well-known compliment to deity Puck, and both enjoy a similar outlook. Marbonas is a god whose tenets are to make all eternity extremely ‘interesting’, i.e. difficult for all the other Gods, demi-gods and other worshipped beings in existence. Marbonas and his followers are often thought of as slightly mad by all other religions and looked upon fondly.

Mark - lowest rank of Viruelandian nobility.

Margalen, House of -  A royal house of Arduin in times past that took the throne and brought dark and horrible times to the land.  Only a purge by Arduin's greatest heroes turned the tide of darkness and decay descending upon Arduin.  Margalen is sometimes used as a curse, such as "a son of Margalen"  or an epithet, indicating impurity or one who follows the dark elder gods.

Marmachand - A land on the southern coast of Khaora near the Green Hell. Marmachand is an old country whose reputation is the dark, sultry, and devious: feared by all nations for its intrigues and magik.

Master Words Of Power - the fabled group of words, phrases and songs held by the legendary bards of the past, or at least, as it is recounted by those with a Bardic bent.  Rune Singers generally scoff at such nonsense and believe they are attempting to take something historically in the portfolio of Rune Singers.

Matyr's Doom - one of the highest natural places within the Sun Moon Wood, its consists of a path that leads up a series of sharply cut steps to a sheer bluff. The top is worn smooth by the trek of many feet and littered with the scrawled multi-tongued writing of penitents. During the equinox and solstices, the lit fingers of the divine seem to play across the bluff and many have leapt to their doom trying to leap into the hand of their god. Strangely enough, on more than one occasion witnesses have described this very event occurring, as the leaper disappears into the light and is not seen again. Sages have posed that it is possible the proper conjunctions could open volatile nexus points that resemble the effects witnesses describe.

Megalon - The religion is worldwide in scope and with one of the numerically largest memberships of all the religions it is a faith to be reckoned with in politics and in proselytization. In the forefront everywhere, this faith epitomizes war and battle from the most chivalrous and honorable aspects. Megalon is also the continual suitor to the Lady of the Silver Moon.

Melkalund - Melkalund is probably Arduin’s largest trading center and one of the largest cities in the country with a population of nearly 220,000 people. Melkalund is an interesting city and a very important one as it sits on the nexus of two major rivers and three of the main King’s Roads in the country. While many of the rich and powerful dwell and do business in Melkalund, there is a large middle class work force that often gives the city a more earthy, hardworking feel. It is next to Talismondé in diversity due to its trading connections and has a history stretching back to the time of the Accords of Arduin. The Fields of Pelanorè outside of Melkalund were the site of the formation of the legendary Accords of Arduin. The host that filled that plain in history swelled the size of the tiny village, and Melkalund has done nothing but grow since that day.

Mellisaria -  one of the early Maragoréan Queens who bore nine heirs for the throne and was known for her fiery temperament and one true prophecy.

Menjanit - Human empire on the world of Zharvanex.  This nation is the closest civilized country to the Twist Tangle portal where it opens into Zharvanex.  They keep a heavily garrison fort barely a mile down the beach.

Metal Towers - A pocket of the Mist Shorn Plains in Saast is strewn almost haphazardly with jagged protruding stones and columns of metal, some that stand 20 ft or higher. It’s a place of mystery and known haunt of spirits and dangerous beasts.

Mickleback Mountains -  The mountain chain extends for more than 38 miles in length and is over 68 miles in width. Few other mountains are spoken of in Arduin or in Khaas with such grandeur as the Mickleback Mountains. They are famous for their liquors, their metals, stone, and people. Every one is stout and stalwart, tough and stubborn. Century-old spruce forests grow at the highest parts of the mountains and beech and pine trees occupy the lower parts. The view, which opens out from the highest points of the mountains, is overwhelming. The Mickleback Mountains contain over 65 named mountains and hundreds of smaller peaks, along with eight forests, and ten walled settlements. Many deeds and tales are spun about its slopes, heights, and places between the forested flanks of thes stone peaks.

The Midden - Portion of the Bone Wood called such for its burnt and otherwise desolate appearance, jarringly so in comparison to the rest of the wood. Considered haunted by all who have seen it. People are well known to disappear without a trace in its stretch.

Middle Road - synonymous with the Crystal River and the God's Spine Mountains, the "path" of trade and travel across eastern Arduin.

Miminak’s Brood - vicious cabal of individuals described briefly by Mounavernor duLesmque in his journal of otherworldly travels. Particularly, he noted that he met them on Eonju but also had clashed with them on Khaas as well, in the nation of Morvaen. He took particular satisfaction in “convincing” the priesthood of HIM to take a very keen dislike to them, something that resulted in more than two dozen of them to be "shown the error of their ways" by some of the adherents of HIM. They also tried to mount a massive telescope cum energy soaking device in the mountains north of Arduin but Mounavernor and a few companions managed to smash it into rubble. They believed they could draw power from the Eye of the Heavens (HIM) with it somehow and use it to their own advantage.

Mist Finger Mountain - Tall mountain on the north side of Aldoré dedicated to several very militant goddesses. The entire peak of the mountain is dominated by the nine temples to the war goddesses and their thirst is said to equal their prowess in battle.

Mist Fox Mountains - Large mountain chain that makes up most of the eastern border of Khorsar and some of the northern border with Saast.   The leg of the mountains as it spears into Saast is called the Mountains of the Pale.

Mist Fox River - A powerful and deep river that cuts through the country of Saast.  Well known for its treacherous currents, thick choking mist and spirit pools.

Mist Kill Plains -  An area of rolling hills and plains in southern Saast always shrouded in mist and filled with dangerous beasts.

Mist Scum -  a pale fungus that looks like spilled milk.  Used widely in southern Saast in the same way tofu is used in meals.

Mist Shorn Plain - The rolling hills and plains of southeast Saast below the Zool Stalk Forest as the land moves eastward into Azelkha.

Misty Isles - powerful Amazon island nation to the east of Khaora in the Cerulean Sea.  The Misty Isles is an aggressive and energetic land, whose vitality has often led it to internal dissention and wars with neighboring lands. The Misty Isles is frequently thought of as the mother to many nations on the mainland and the islands around Khaora.

Misty Mountain Wars - 42-year stretch of history over the succession to the Mist Wind Throne of the Misty Isles. The wars were excruciatingly bloody, even for the Misty Isles and saw a mass exodus from the Isles to the mainland and abroad.

Misty Sea - one-seventh of the country of Arduin's area is taken up by the fresh water inland sea known as the Misty Sea. This extremely deep body of water (1,600 ft. average depth) is fed by the five major rivers in the country and sees every form of watery environment, starting with the chilled deeps on the western portion to the shallower, warm "everglades" like area in the northeast.

Moon Mind - A little known nexus that rapidly cycled into entropic destruction after appearing for a short few months in 66 Dragonus.  It appeared out of literally nowhere over night, forming in the dropping spray of the grand fountain in the center of the town of Quartermass.

Moonrise Mountain - a small mountain, more truly a hill, there is little significant over this small cropping of mountains outside of the beautiful sight of the moons seemingly cresting its summit nightly. An obscure legends speaks of harm that would befall Arduin should, "the moons not crown the mountain".

Mountains of the Pale - Mist strewn mountains filled with white stone and honey colored soil.  Actually the northern finger of the Mist Fox Mountains where they enter Saast.  Highly prized for its wealth in animals and vegetation, such as silk from mist walker spiders, feathers from albino raptors, kut (beetles), Zigfondl (potato like tuber), and Mist Scum (pale fungus that looks like spilled milk).

Mordag - Six days comprise a week, usually called a Sixday or Zedra.  The individual days of the Zedra are Mordag, Taenwal, Wurdigan, Veldoar, Sarmaht, and Qwain, in that order.

Mordakk - This is a chaotic and dangerous god whose followers believe the ‘All of the Multiverse’ began in fire and shall equally be consumed by the flame; the very flame that set the Multiverse in motion. The large corpus of followers to this faith is quite active both politically and in proselytizing worldwide. However, their center is the small clan holdings and city-states of the fourth continent. The tenets of this divinity and numerous and twisted, and all ceremony and ritual revolve around the black flame at the heart of every shrine or temple dedicated to this god. The appetite of this deity has incited more than one religious war to ‘light the lands with war and sword’.

Morgorn's Spell of Red Death - An Arduinian favorite, this spell targets the corporeal body of a victim, quite fatally rupturing the internal organs of the target then messily turning them inside out to die in a flopping, bloody entrails-tangled mess.

Morvaen - Morvaen extends an influence over the entire reach and breadth of Khaora from its position in the heart of the continent. Morvaen is an influential player in the rhythm of the world, dictating change from its coveted position in the center of things.

Mother of Five Battles - This is another name for the Amazon warrioress Omphalea, a heroine of the Aveldans.  She gained it fighting against the Pandooris and southward-pushing nomads in five large scale conflicts.

Mounavernor duLesmque - Elven Warrior harking from the Glitter Grove in Arduin, this Elven Warrior made a name in Khaas for his exploits time and time again in his homeland of Arduin.  Lesser known but no powerful is his contributions to exploring rogue and established nexus gates.  His book was written just prior to his exploration of the nexus known as Moon Mind but sadly never finished as he disappeared within and never returned.  Said gate rapidly cycled to an entropic end and Mounavernor was considered lost, if not dead.

Mountains of Madness - Vast mountain chain of fantastic height, where 20,000 ft. is the average height of the mountains and some tower over 30,000 ft to the heavens.

Muck Woods - In the past, before the Tamaad River changed its course, a portion of the Crawling Forest near the Fens of Fear was known as the Muck Woods. Few beyond locals reference that way anymore and it’s a lost name to all but the most read or informed.

Multiversal Trading Company - an organization that spanned not only the nexus but interstellar regions as well, the MTC (a favorite acronym) was a little bit of everything but most often seen as a store front to purchase or sell goods / services.

Multiverse - a concept used to encompass the vastness of the collection of universes, diverse and similar, and seemingly with no end to their number.

Murk Rot - a nasty skin disease that rots away the outer skin of anything that doesn’t have natural armor equivalent to leather in a few hours.  The process is not painful but victims typically die before the rot finishes with their skin.

Myrmydios - This mountainous country has stood for tens of turns of the cycle as the stalwart ally of Arduin. Myrmydios has also played a crucial factor in uniting other nations to accept the Accords of Arduin when they were proposed.

Mythic Mountains - Supernatural mountain range that supposedly exists in the heavens and rings the cities of the gods...
