Ochendur - the
old province of the Pandooris
Empire, coinciding with most of Panduria, the mountain
chains and part of the western desert.
Oggirdon - Greater Demon that precluded Kavring as the uncontested lord of all lesser fire beings.
Ogo Trees - Thick bole hard wood trees that bend and bow to create natural awnings
and entwined foliage. They tend to kill off trees of
other types in the same vicinity and are very resistant to
parasites and disease.
Olympic Mysteries - Primarily humans, Hobbitts,
Amazons and a few Dwarves follow these deities, though adherents from some other races exist. This religious pantheon is a
crossover from the terrestrial world and truly runs the range of all the earthly gods and goddess of Earth’s ‘Greek Gods’
with all their differences and attributes. Worldwide in scope and possessed of moderately large numbers of followers, this
religion has substantial clout and general visibility in the world. There are a bewildering number of holy days and rituals
ranging from simple burnt offerings to blood sacrifice involved in the Olympian Mysteries, too numerous and lengthy to include
here.
Omphalea - This Amazon warrioress is also known as
the Mother of Five Battles. She is also quite renown as the creator of the
place known as ‘Blood Curse’ in Avelda. The dark and
fell oath she swore the day she returned to find her seven daughters raped and mutilated almost beyond recognition
occasionally echoes through the ages in the tragedy of another. The tale of her oath is in
the tales & legends section of the web site.
One Who Waits - This is perhaps the most enigmatic deity known as there never has been any pictorial or written description of it (him / her). The basic tenet of this faith is quite simple: ‘Waiting for the Ending Time’.
Onshoom the Golden - This deity is found primarily on the fourth continent of Extaercara in the easternmost coastal cities. While rather bad natured and ‘Evil’ in many ways, this deity is first and foremost a war god, and is prominent among mercenaries. Followers to Onshoom know war is but a means to achieve goals and that all events are resolved by conflict and strife. They also claim the ‘Good’ or ‘Bad’ of any fight is settled by the victor not the loser, and whatever means it takes to survive and succeed is ‘Good’, not ‘Bad’
Oolnydragen - the
ancient Greater Demon also called the Demon
of Whispers. Oolnydragen supposedly could kill
with the sound of its voice and was an old foe of many of
the ancient heroes, especially Elven ones and those of Rune
Singer or Bardic orientation.
Oos’al - Those who dwelled in the thronging
heated jungles of what is now the Green Hell, and knew of the primal creatures and multitude of rejects from Kthoi experimentation there
Orguria - After cycles of internal strife that
decimated the kingdom, Orguria made a surprise comeback into prominence during
the Panduria-Misty Isles War and has only grown stronger as the cycles pass.
Orichalcum Ocean - The ocean stretching between Archaela and Khaora. Just as frequently called the Eastern Seas.
Orpheus - Greatest musician and poet of the Olympic Mysteries in Khaas, whose songs could charm wild beasts and coax even rocks and trees into movement.
Orphic Cult - A cult that
springs up from time to time around the god Orpheus.
The last recorded evidence of this god's following was in 77
CY Torqus on the Tremble Plains, in the Gnomus Ruins. The cult prospered in the
ruins of that town for a few years but ended when all the members of the cult died of virulent fast acting plague.
Oto-toomo - the capitol of the Empire of theUr on the world of the Urlabur. The city is walled and built on a large plain. Only two miles square, it contains a population of 5 million. Streets radiate out from a large open gallery in the middle of the city, which hosts the 45287 gods of the Ur. The gallery is the center of religious life for the Ur. The houses—all nine stories high—are painted reds, greens, and yellows.
Ovgaukr - another true legend
with equally malignant origins,
this terror stalks at night in search of victims for its unappeasable hunger. Unlike
Dweollaas,
Ovgaukr will stalk outside the Fox Wood. It most
frequently appears to others as a cowled, dark and shadowy figure on a dark horse. Sometimes
Ovgaukr will appear as a headless figure standing on the back of two horses, oozing darkness
from its upraised hands that twines and ships around it like
a curling snake. Ovgaukr's favorite time is stormy weather
and it delights in surprising lone travelers, and pursuing them until light just sends beams across the land then ending their lives. For
it, the pursuit is the delight to appease its hunger and
Ovgaukr only drains the life from them when it is full. Those who interrupt
Ovgaukr's hunt earn its darkest wrath and magic. It will
pursue them endlessly, to any place or world until they are
devoured in the darkness of its power.
Ozrhaen - Ozrhaen is a
xenophobic and secluded nation of religious autocrats who rule
harshly and are entirely closed to outside influence.
