Rachel Tall Clear - A Khai Zirin beauty and courtesan.  Her biggest claim to fame is the wooing of 109 males during the Contest of the Madonna's.

Rainbow Isles, The - The Rainbow Isles is a robust island country whose Amazon women are known across the breadth of Khaora for their vivacity, individualism, and zest for life.

Rainbow Sea - The area of ocean around the Rainbow Isles.

Raush-Abnos - The tiny congregations of the followers to this enigmatic deity are found on the fourth and sixth continent’s wasteland areas. The small numbers of this cult and their closemouthed attitude toward questioning about their faith has circulated very little information about this inscrutable god.  Followers do not spread their faith actively, feeling ‘those who will, know their place’.

Red House - A small town in the western portion of Arduin.

Red Solstice - Every fifth Summer Solstice is the dread Red Solstice, and is marked by a total failure of the three Khaasian moons to be visible for the whole three days! Where they go or how they are hidden is a mystery but during this time from dusk of the first day to the dawn of the next, the sky is, "as red as new spilled blood", and the winds blow in voiceless terror, while all gates and nexuses will align with Chaos and open to the flow from beyond. It is a wild and wooly time in the world as weird and terrible things come through the opened gates, people disappear, and chaos reigns for a night of pure carnage and terror. While all stay barricaded within or move in groups of at least one hundred, many still die in odd and / or horrible ways, others simply vanish without a trace, never to be seen again, whilst a few are radically changed forever by their experiences. This is a bad time in the world and one that must be endured every five years.

Rherekk -  The harsh lands of the north and the massive Heaven Wall Mountains have developed a hard people, seen often as savages by others but with surprising depth beneath.

Rhingalore - A dwarven empire of some legend that held sway in the Pylomere Mountains and the Withered Lands. They were renown as great artisans, craftsman and makers of wondrous things.

Ride of the Gallant Froth Horses - the ballad composed and sung by great bard Fire Eyes Darkness Weeps at Tai Taowyn after the first year of founding the city of Talismondé. While the ballad focused on the Battle of Foam Stallions, it began with the famous words of the Elven Queen Tarathala to General Almari Shaldonness and ended with the final fall of the Elven legions and General Shaldonness' heroic last stand.

Rim Crown Mountain - Mountain in Maragoré haunted by an Ibathene, sometimes referred to by the same name. They say a village at the base has a low stone wall carved with names upon names of those who have tried to slay the Ibathene and failed.

Rim of the World - Another name for the continent of Extaercara.

Riven Moon Prophecy - See Khonthul Goërm.

Roccahr - literally Year of the Roc, the second year of the Cycle of Years calendar.  Certain symbols were utilized when this way of reckoning was proposed on that fateful day in Arduin when all the people and nations of Khaora sat at the table of peace and hammered out the words that would forever bind them all to a lasting peace.   Fifteen where chosen, and a sixteenth added to represent the dark times that come but (thankfully) once in a thousand years. Even then the guts of the calendar was old and stretched back farther in history than its proposal on the Fields of Pelanorè.

Roiling Foam Sea - tributary water of the Great Western Ocean that is constantly wreathed in mist and fog and wrenched by terrible storms. Its currents are extremely chaotic and dangerous, changing at the whim of some unknown hand.

Root Hive - Another name for the nexus portal to the world of Zharvanex.

Rumble Tummy's Ale - Perhaps the best known (and most widely appreciated) drink of purely Arduinian origin, it was first brewed only 400 years ago by a totally reclusive Hobbit clan in the township of Pearl House (in the nation of Arduin) and, aside from the newer (80 year old) subsidiary brewery in Melkalund, that is still where the ale is made. It has a deep reddish brown color and a ‘good head’, as well as a delightful (and unmistakable) nut-like aroma. It costs about four and one half GS per small keg (or about one GS per bottle) but everyone who likes ale feels it's cheap at the price. The ale is exported throughout the world and even to other planes of the Multiverse and has become one of the better-known ‘calling cards’ of Arduin.

Rune - construct (typically thought of as a 'rune') that holds the raw inchoate power (mana) carefully manipulated via scientific process and time; the power of Rune Magik and Rune Weavers.

Rune Magik - the careful and time-consuming manipulation of raw inchoate power (mana) for a specific purpose, and the placement of this power into or on the receiving rune.  The power is shaped as the rune is created and when activated does so at full flower.  Also defined as the application of science to raw chaos, with an output via the woven 'word'.

Rune Singers - like Rune Weavers, Rune Singers utilize Rune Magik but do so via the power of their voice, i.e., they literally "sing" runes of power into what they need.  They are some of the oldest magik arising next to Rune Weaving and have their roots in the Great Night War.

Rune Weavers - those who use Rune Magik; the First Born that usurped the power of the Kthoi in the Wars of Freedom.
