Zaau - small fat aphids that breed in the muck in great numbers. They exude a form of reddish liquid almost honey like in consistency that they leave on hard surfaces. This stuff is sarcastically called
ghoul sausage (though its not) since it appears in rolling round rivulets.
Zagrana - Zagrana has two distinct cultures
and exists as two different kingdoms occupying the same space, one above, and the other below.
Zalkhor - twenty-two ft Ithalosian pike used expressly by their infantrymen
Zar -
There are 15 months, for a total of 450 days in the year, not including Tai Taowyn or
End Year, which is a five-day period of "non-time" that takes care of the odd orbital
period around the sun of 455 days. The months, in order, all called: Tor, Ator,
Vaen, Torvaen, Kos, Torkos
,Skord, Torskord, Zar,
Torzar, Ghast, Torghast,
Chund, Torchund and Khoros,
or the End Year month.
Zed - A day on Khaas; sometimes used just to refer to the daytime
portion of a Zed (day) as well.
Zedra - Six days comprise a week, usually called a Sixday or Zedra. The individual
days of the Zedra are Mordag, Taenwal, Wurdigan, Veldoar, Sarmaht, and Qwain, in that order. The folk of Khaas
commonly work Mordag through Veldoar, and half a day on Sarmaht, taking the afternoon and all day
Qwain off. This varies regionally.
Zeustras - Another name for the Olympic Mysteries God Zeus; used most widely in Viruelandia
Zharvanex - A world of huge, global empires; one
of seventeen worlds mentioned in Mounavernor duLesmque’s
volume, "Journeys of an Iterant Elf".
Zhonjule - Zhonjule is a barony in Falohyr tucked away tightly against the edge of the Withered Lands
and the heights of the Heavenwall Mountains. Before Falohyr swept it up into its growing kingdom in the days before the
Nexus Wars Zhonjule was a small nation of its own, isolationistic and stubborn, xenophobic on all levels. It was consumed by Falohyr
in a long series of wars and conquered when its numbers were decimated by a terrible plague and famine the tore the land asunder.
Zhuler - Zhuler was born in the sticky wax like byproduct that the
hobbitts in Pearl House found on the bottom of the oldest vats used for brewing
Rumble Tummy’s Ale. They called it vat butter and used it to grease things. When combined properly with certain other ingredients (and the story about how that came about … whew!) it creates a substance akin to nitroglycerin. Alchemists with access to raw materials, the right processes and the formula can make this stuff at a cost of 86 GS per ounce! It markets for about 4 times that but it’s still extremely rare due to the availability of materials.
Zigfondl - A potato like tuber,
usually eaten cold but also considered good baked or roasted. A prime
staple of food for travelers within Saast and uncommon
outside of its boundaries. Only grows on the slopes of steep hills or
mountains.
Zindhettis - wild, mountain beast similar to a goat like antelope found in the Heaven Wall Mountains and a few other mountain highs. Zindhettis have big, back ward curling horns, snapping teeth and a voracious appetite. It has blood red, feral eyes and keens like a banshee; it likes to attack with the mountains winds.
Zindibindi - Amazons follow this goddess, which is found almost exclusively in Vargalla, the Misty Isles and recently in Arduin; this goddess is somewhat akin to the Martial Aspect of the Silver Moon Goddess and is known for her continual testing of followers through trial by combat and assorted adversities. Oddly, she is finding a following among Deodanths.
Zirhaine - The Zirhaine are a people with a
strong sense of civic duty and a determination to stand united against the rampages
of their neighbors.
Zirkenkuärk - a 40 inch kukri-like sword with an edge on both sides and a hardened point to pierce armor. Used in the country of Chund and a
few others as the weapon of choice for infantrymen and adventurers.
Zolkhar Mountains - Large mountain chain on the border of
Azelkha and Saast.
Zool, The - The fanged, winged,
reptilian-demon nightmare and bogeyman that is said to have eyes everywhere and
to hunt to fill its voracious appetite. Used to scare children and frighten them
into obedience.
Zool River - A treacherous and tangled river, named after the
Saast Bogeyman of the same name for its
difficult and deadly ways.
Zool Stalk Forest - A
dark and sinister forest, named after the
Saast Bogeyman of the same name. Reputed to be
its primary hunting ground.
